KARACHI, July 12: Two ships carrying containers were accommodated berths at QICT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, four more ships with containers, sugar, edible oil and diesel oil also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy fell to 67pc as seven ships were busy in loading and unloading containers, rice, cement, sugar and edible oil.

A cargo volume of 58,217 tons comprising 21,633 tons of import and 36,584 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was active as Sealand Voyager, Xiang Wan, Stolt Nanami and Worada Naree left the port while Nedlloyd Muscat and Asian Gyro was due to depart.

Six ships, CMA CGM Sambhar, Mega-1, Chem Adriatic, Al-Jaber-15, Anette Kosan and Trinity carrying containers, edible oil, sugar, chemicals and iron ore were due to arrive at the port.
