SUKKUR: Journalist injured in Pano Akil

SUKKUR, June 12: Paryal Dayo, a reporter of daily Kawish, was injured seriously when armed men opened fire on him with Kalashnikov in Shahi Bazar Pano Akil on Monday.

Mr Dayo, who is also president of the Pano Akil Press Club, has been admitted to a Sukkur hospital.

Eyewitnesses said that police constable Gulshan Mako was allegedly involved in the attack.

Hospital sources said that the journalist was in a precarious condition.

The cause of the attack could not be ascertained immediately.

Sukkur District Police Officer Ghulam Shabbir Shaikh and Sukkur Range AIG Akbar Arain ordered police to arrest the assailants.

No further details were available immediately.
