KARACHI: Doctor sacked

KARACHI, June 1: The Sindh Health Minister, Shabbir Ahmed Qaimkhani, on Thursday terminated a Women Medical Health Officer of School Health Karachi, Rukhsana Siddiqui, from service under the RSO (Special Power 2000) due to her long absence from duty.

According to a handout, she had been absent from duty since 1997.

Meanwhile, the health minister stopped the promotion of Dr Shah and Dr Qamar, medical officers of Taluka Hospital, Sajawal, for negligence in duty and transferred them to the Ketti Bunder Taluka hospital.

The minister said that negligence and absence from duty would not to be tolerated and those found guilty would be sent home.

He said new doctors would be recruited on vacant posts soon, so as to provide the masses with better medical facilities.—PPI
