Windies struggle for runs
KINGSTON, May 20: West Indies made a disastrous start after India won the toss and chose to field in the second One-day International on Saturday.
The hosts were 143 for seven wickets after 42 overs, including the prized scalp of Brian Lara for 14.
Chris Gayle, who scored 123 in the opening match on Thursday at the same venue, was dismissed without scoring to Ajit Agarkar in the second over of the match.
Fellow opener Runako Morton made just one before Irfan Pathan trapped leg-before-wicket. Pathan then followed by having Lara caught by Rahul Dravid.
Shivnarine Chanderpaul fell to off-spinner Harbhajan Singh, caught by Mohammad Kaif for 10, to leave West Indies reeling at 43 for four in 19 overs.
Ramnaresh Sarwan, who completed a fighting 50 off 92 balls, and Marlon Samuels put on 60 in 16 overs until the latter was caught behind for 19 off occasional left-arm spinner Yuvraj Singh. —Agencies
