HYDERABAD: Remission of dues in calamity-hit areas denied

HYDERABAD, May 20: The Sindh relief commissioner on Saturday contradicted a news item appearing in a section of the press regarding declaration of calamity-affected areas.

He said the Board of Revenue, Sindh, had already clarified the factual position.

He said newspapers had not published correct position as districts reportedly affected due to drought had been notified as calamity-affected only for the purpose of development schemes under DERA-II programme. He said that the status of calamity-hit had no concern with any remission and postponement of government dues in the districts.

LUMHS: The Liaquat Univer-sity of Medical and Health Sciences on Saturday announced results of diploma in medical radiotherapy part-I, diploma in dermatology, diploma in otorhinolaryngology part-I and diploma in ophthalmology postgraduate diploma examination 2006.
