KARACHI: Rally for release of youths

By Our Reporter

KARACHI, May 20: Kith and kin of the missing activists of the Millat-i-Jafria have planned a protest march to be held on Sunday. This was announced by women relatives of some of the activists at a news conference here on Saturday.

The march would start from the Imambargah Ali Raza and terminate at the Karachi Press Club.

Accompanied by Prof Shaista Zaidi, the mothers and sisters of these missing youth told journalists that law enforcement agencies’ personnel broke into their houses and used abusive language before picking up the men they wanted. The women said that they harassed elders, children and women at home.

“Under whose orders, such action is being taken?” they asked, condemning that whereabouts of their children were not being disclosed by the agencies.

They warned that if their children were not released immediately, they would actively participate in the campaign launched by their religious leaders.
