KARACHI, May 12: Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO) is organizing an international training course on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System (GIS) from May 15 to 26, in Karachi.

Besides participants from different national organisations, candidates from Syria and Sudan are also participating in the training, which is the second training course being conducted in 2006.

SUPARCO has planned to conduct two more courses on different themes relating to remote sensing and GIS technologies and their application.

Being the national agency for all satellite remote sensing and GIS related activities, it is mandated to promote uses of latest technologies for socioeconomic development programmes.-—PPI
