43 marble units start production

KARACHI, March 27: As many as 43 marble units started production during the last six months while 33 units are in the last stage of completion at the Marble City developed on 100 acres of land.

This was stated by Lasbela Industrial State Development Authority managing director Bashir Ahmed Nadeem at the inauguration of various projects at the Marble City, says a press release issued by the All Pakistan Marble Industries Association (Sindh-Balochistan Zone) here on Monday.

He said the marble produced at the city would also be exported to various countries to will earn foreign exchange.

Balochistan Trade and Industry Minister Mir Abdul Ghafoor Lehri said the government would provide electricity to the marble units at 25 per cent reduced rate.

He expressed the hope that the revival of industrial activities in Balochistan would help address issues like unemployment and poverty.
