KARACHI, March 20: A bilingual poetry recital session “Shafaq Urdu Sindhi Mushaira” was held at the Arts Council. Poets from across the province recited their compilations, followed by an elaborate discussion on the scope and changing trends in the realms of Urdu and Sindhi poetry.

The session was presided over by senior poet from Nawabshah, Maqbool Abidi while the chief guest was Rafiq Anjum. Honorary guests were Gulnar Afreen, Arif Shafiq and Kawish Abbasi, a poet from Saudi Arabia.

All the poets present on the occasion were of the opinion that such bilingual poetic sessions should be organised on a more frequent and regular basis.—APP
