KARACHI: Opium seized in Keamari

KARACHI, Feb 17: The Keamari Town police on Friday seized 130 kg opium from taxi no JN-6178 during snap checking at the Mauripur Truck Stand, and arrested its driver Aziz Khan. Meanwhile, the Gulistan-i-Jauhar police foiled two mobile phone snatching attempts.

In the first incident, the police arrested an accused, Aftab, while his accomplices managed to escape. They were allegedly busy in snatching a cellphone from Imran at Abdullah Heights.

In another incident, the police arrested two accused Furqan and Shahzad who were busy in snatching a mobile phone from Abdul Kareem near the Oxford School at the Gulshan Chowrangi. A dagger and a snatched mobile phone were also recovered from the accused. The police have registered separate cases against the accused and further investigations are under way.—APP
