Sewer gas ‘kills’ five

SAHIWAL, Feb 12: Sewer gas claimed five lives here on Sunday near Chak 103/7-R while two others fell unconscious. Reports said Talim and his brother Amjad entered the sewerage tube-well to repair its motor. Both died from the poisonous gas. Later, constable Bilal, Sabir and Mubarik entered the well and died. Afzal along with Manzoor entered to save his brother Sabir. Both fell unconscious and were timely taken out.

Police after discharge of gas from the pipe recovered the bodies. Afzal and Manzoor were admitted to hospital. —Correspondent
