KARACHI: Man shot dead

By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Feb 12: A young man was shot dead by motorcycle snatchers near Naz Plaza in Saddar at M.A. Jinnah Road on Sunday.

Police said that Kamran Shaikh, 40, an employee of Habib Bank was on motorcycle when three armed men on two motorcycles intercepted him. As they tried to snatch the motorcycle, Kamran reportedly resisted. The suspects opened fire at Kamran and fled away with his motorcycle.

The wounded victim was rushed to the Civil Hospital, where he died during treatment, police said.

In Orangi Town, a woman was killed allegedly by her neighbours late Saturday night.

Police said that Nelofer, 38, had gone to a house in the neighbourhood to collect her pool money.

However, she failed to get the money. As she was returning home, three suspects intercepted her demanding the cash. She told them that she didn’t have the cash. The suspects insisted on search and shot at her as she resisted. She was taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital where she was pronounced dead on arrival.

On Sunday, police claimed to have arrested the three suspects involved in the murder.
