By Saleem Shahid

QUETTA, Feb 10: Three members of a family, including two women, were killed and three others were seriously injured in a landmine explosion near Sangsilla, Dera Bugti district, on Friday.

According to sources, the family living in a village near Sangsilla was migrating to Lahri due to continuous firing and rocket attacks in the area. At Dera Bugti Sangsilla Road their donkey stepped on the landmine as a result of which both the women and a minor boy were killed and three others, including a minor girl, were seriously injured. The donkey was also killed in the powerful explosion.

“Two women and a minor boy died on the spot when their donkey cart moved over a landmine on Friday afternoon,” official sources said while confirming the incident.

“It was an anti-tank mine planted on the road by unidentified miscreants,” a senior official of the Dera Bugti administration said.

Sources said that the injured were immediately taken to the PPL Sui Hospital.
