ARD meeting tomorrow

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24: Chairman of the Alliance for Restoration of Democracy Makhdoom Amin Fahim has convened an emergency meeting of the heads of the component parties of the alliance in Lahore on Thursday to discuss the developing situation in the country in the wake of the US bombing in Bajaur Agency and the government stopping opposition leaders from entering the area.

According to ARD Secretary General Iqbal Zafar Jhagra, the issue of the ongoing military operation in Balochistan and reports that the government was approaching Interpol for Ms Bhutto’s arrest would also be discussed in the meeting.

Mr Jhagra told Dawn that ARD leaders would chalk out their future line of action to register their protest over the killing of innocent people in the US bombing in Bajaur Agency.

Replying to a question, he said that all opposition parties had realized that the time had come to launch a joint movement against the government.—By Our Staff Reporter
