KARACHI, Dec 27: The Chief Minister, Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim, on Monday said that Pakistan and Bangladesh should enhance cooperation in various sectors to further strengthen friendly ties between them. He was speaking at a dinner hosted by him in honour of the visiting 20-member delegation of Bangladeshi Parliamentarians at the Chief Minister’s House.

The delegation was headed by member of the Bangladeshi Parliament and Adviser to Bangladeshi Prime Minister Salahuddin Qadir Choudhary.

The chief minister pointed out that Bangladesh was moving on the path of progress like Pakistan and stressed on promotion of further cooperation in various sectors.

Dr Arbab said that progress on the economic front had become possible through pursuance of policies introduced by President Pervez Musharraf.

The delegation head, Salahuddin Qadir, said different projects could be initiated jointly in various areas including textiles. He stressed on promotion of trade activities between the two countries.

Mr Salahuddin said their visit to Pakistan would help in further strengthening ties between Pakistan and Bangladesh.

Ghulam Arbab presented traditional gifts of Ajraks and Sindhi caps to the delegates.

Speaker Sindh Assembly Syed Muzaffar Hussain Shah, Senior Minister Syed Sardar Ahmed, provincial ministers Sardar Nadir Akmal Leghari, Dr Hamida Khuhro, Secretary to Chief Minister Sikandar Ali Keerio and Special Secretary Dr Muhammad Ali among others were also present.—APP
