HYDERABAD: Black day observed in colleges

HYDERABAD, Dec 20: A black day was observed in colleges of Sindh against transfer of principals of Thatta and Khairpur Nathan Shah government colleges and office-bearers of the Sindh Professors and Lecturers Association to Karachi.

On a call of the SPLA’s Sindh council, black flags were hoisted on college buildings and teachers wore black armbands while taking classes.

Teachers also held meetings in premises of colleges and adopted resolutions in furtherance of their demands.

The Sindh council of the SPLA had announced to hold a series of protest demonstrations in Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur and other major towns in protest against non-acceptance of demands of teachers by the Sindh government.

LUMHS: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences on Tuesday announced that practical/viva-voce examinations of final professional MBBS (old course) in gynaecology and obstetrics would be held on Dec 22 at the department of gynaecology of the university’s Hyderabad city branch.
