By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Dec 20: The Anti-Kalabagh dam and Greater Thal Canal Action Committee Karachi will stage a huge rally on Thursday to protest against government’s plan to construct these two “anti-Sindh projects”.

The joint rally to be taken out from Quaid’s mausoleum will terminate in front of Sindh High Court, where it will be addressed by the leaders of various parties.

This was announced on Tuesday by PPP leader Rashid Rabbani at a joint press conference which was also addressed by ANP leader Amin Khattak, STPP’s Ali Hasan Chandio, PML-N’s Nehal Hashmi and National Party’s Mubarak Baloch.

The leaders termed the Kalabagh Dam and Greater Canal Project “anti-Sindh projects” saying these two projects if implemented would destroy the economy of Sindh and turned it into a barren land.

The committee leaders said that the rally would be addressed by PPP leader Syed Qaim Ali Shah, leader of the opposition in Sindh Assembly Nisar Khuhro, Awami Party leader Asfandyar Wali Khan, Sindh National Party Chairman Sardar Mumtaz Bhutto, Sindh Taraqi Pasand Party chief Qadir Magsi, National Party Secretary-General Hasil Khan Bizenjo.
