Police told to mend ways

By Our Staff Reporter

LAHORE, Dec 12: City investigation police chief on Monday expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of his force. Presiding over a meeting, Investigation SSP Chaudhry Shafqaat Ahmad said he was not happy over the performance of police in the city. Directing all SPs to submit reports on their respective divisions within 15 days, the chief asked them and other subordinates to improve their performance.

Giving a target to each investigator of submitting 45 per cent cases of crime against property to courts, he warned that performance of an officer would be considered unsatisfactory if his ratio remained less than 40 per cent.

The police chief asked the SPs to mention the unsatisfactory performance, if any, in the ACRs of their subordinates, and warned them that letters of displeasure would be issued to the officials failing to act accordingly.

He directed all circle officers to hold daily meetings to review the performance of the force under their charge and submit reports to their SPs, who would be duty bound to forward the same to him.

The police chief said the officials with satisfactory performance would be encouraged, but those involved in corruption and irregularities would be taken to task.
