Cricket-Pakistan win third test and series v England LAHORE, Pakistan, Dec 3 (Reuters) Pakistan won the third and final test against England by an innings and 100 runs on Saturday to take the series 2-0. Fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar with five wickets and spinner Danish Kaneria with four, including three wickets in five balls after lunch, did the damage. England were all out for 248 after the last eight wickets fell for just 43 runs. "They put us under a lot of pressure," England captain Michael Vaughan said. Senior Al Qaeda commander confirmed killed in Pakistan ISLAMABAD, Dec 3 (Reuters) An al Qaeda commander ranked among the top five in Osama bin Laden's network was killed in a tribal region of Pakistan, President Pervez Musharraf, arriving in Kuwait on an official visit, confirmed on Saturday. "Yes indeed, 200 percent. I think he was killed the day before yesterday if I'm not wrong," Musharraf told reporters. Abu Hamza Rabia, an Egyptian credited with heading al Qaeda's international operations, was among five militants killed in an explosion at a house where they were hiding in North Waziristan on Thursday. While officials said the blast was caused by explosives stored in the house for bomb-making, residents said a helicopter fired rockets into the house at a village near Mir Ali in the tribal agency. Information Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, also in Kuwait, denied Rabia was killed during a military operation. There were further incidents in North Waziristan on Friday. A power utility manager was kidnapped along with two guards by armed men, tribal agency officials said. Later, militants also fired two rockets at an army camp in the town of Miranshah, but there were no reports of casualties.(First Posted@ 16:18 PST Updated @ 18:12 PST) Al-Arabiya says Qaeda denies commander killed in Pakistan DUBAI, Dec 3 (AFP) Al-Arabiya said Saturday it had been contacted by a person claiming to be from Al-Qaeda denying that one of the terror network's top operatives has been killed in Pakistan. "An official from the Al-Qaeda group has denied, in a telephone conversation with the Al-Arabiya channel, that Hamza Rabia has been killed," a presenter on the Arab satellite channel told viewers. The Al-Arabiya presenter cited the caller as saying that five people were killed in an explosion in the tribal region but these were two local men, two Tadjiks and an Arab called Suleiman al-Moghrabi.(Posted @ 21:04 PST) Aziz vows to develop a world class logistic chain to meet growing economy needs KARACHI, DEC 3 (APP) Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Saturday vowed to develop a world class logistic chain in the country to cater to the needs of our growing economy. Referring to the development of ports, Aziz while inaugurating the oil pier II at Karachi Port said that a deep water terminal was coming up at Karachi Port, various other projects were progressing at Port Qasim and a new port was fast nearing completion at Gwadar. "To make the ports efficient outsourcing, privatization, corporatization will be a way of life," he said. He said the government was also improving airports in the country and announced that a new Islamabad airport will be built by two world leading companies. Aziz also said that more hotels were needed to cater to the growing number of foreign visitors in the country and invited the private sector to invest in this area for which, he assured, the government would provide all possible support. Aziz said the government was planning a highway network between Karachi and up north to cut travel time. Saudi forces arrest 17 suspected militants RIYADH, Dec 3 (Reuters) Saudi security forces arrested 17 suspected militants in a series of raids around Riyadh early on Saturday, state television said. They also seized weapons and ammunition in the raids on 12 homes in the capital and nearby districts of Kharj and Mujamma, television quoted an Interior Ministry source as saying. It said all the arrested men were Saudi nationals, but gave no details of their identity. The 700-kilogramme (1,540 pound) Akash, which can track 100 targets simultaneously with onboard radar, can move at a speed of 600 metres (yards) a second and deliver a 55-kilogram warhead across 27 kilometres in 50 seconds.
