By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Nov 30: Seven Pakistani companies receive Investors in People (IiP) awards for successfully completing the programme initiated by the European Union’s Asia Invest rubric in collaboration with the Pakistan-Belgium Business Forum (PBBF).

The ceremony took place at the Brussels Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIB) in Brussels where a 14-member PBBF trade delegation is presently on a visit to Belgium.

According to a press release, Pakistani ambassador to Belgium Saeed Khalid was chief guest on the occasion and presented IiP plaques to United Registrar of Systems, Engro Asahi Polymer and Chemicals Ltd, Dadex Eternit, English Biscuits, Huffaz Seamless Pipes Industries and Orix Leasing.

PBBF President Zahid Dad welcomed the participants and introduced the forum. He expressed his satisfaction over PBBF members’ participation in this pilot project aimed at raising the human resource performance in Pakistan to the international level. He expressed the hope that the project would result in setting a role model for other Pakistani companies to emulate.

The Pakistani ambassador stressed the vital role of having trained manpower in both genders in achieving Pakistan’s development goals. He particularly highlighted the current government’s effort to improve the lot of women.
