KARACHI: Linking bridge at city courts inaugurated

KARACHI, Nov 24: The acting governor and the chief justice of the Sindh High Court, Justice Sabihuddin Ahmed, on Thursday inaugurated a bridge linking three blocks of courts at the City Court Complex constructed by the Karachi Bar Association (KBA) at a cost of Rs575,000.

Speaking on the occasion, the acting governor lauded the efforts of the KBA to facilitate its members. Responding to a demand made by the KBA president for the acquisition of an old KMC building for extending the space of the city courts complex, the acting governor said that efforts would be made in this regard.

He assured the lawyers and the KBA members that he would try to solve the problems faced by them in respect of functioning of the lower judiciary.

The acting governor also assured that courts of all the districts would remain at a single place.

Later addressing the KBA members at the Shuhda-i-Punjab Hall, the SHC chief justice said that people always looked towards the judiciary for their due rights and share.

He called upon the judicial officers as well as the lawyers’ fraternity to work towards judicious and prompt disposal of cases for conveying a positive image of the judiciary amongst the masses.—APP
