KARACHI: Teaching process in colleges resumes

KARACHI, Nov 21: The Sindh Home Minister, Rauf Siddiqi, paid a surprise visit to the D.J. Science and S.M. Arts colleges on Monday. on the occasion, he regretted the ugly incident of misbehaviour with the college teachers a few days back.

The home minister said that the students, who misbehaved and insulted the teachers, had actually insulted themselves.

He said that those who raised hands on teachers did not cause humiliation to the teachers but got themselves ruined.

“If any one patronises the misbehaving students and incite them to humiliate their teachers, in fact he himself is ill-mannered”, he declared

On the occasion, he directed the police officials that if any where in a college in Sindh, students misbehaved with the teacher, an FIR should be immediately registered against such elements and no discrimination be maintained in this respect.

Mr Siddiqi asked the teachers that in case of disturbance in any college, the same should be immediately reported to the area TPO and his message in this respect be conveyed to the principals and teachers of all the educational institutions of the province.

He urged the teachers to perform their duties with courage and not to get intimidated by such rowdy elements.

Mr Siddiqi said that strict action would be taken against such elements with no regard for their teachers.

The home minister added that no student without uniform and identity card be allowed entry to the college.

On the occasion, the teachers and SPLA announced to end their boycott of classes.

They expressed satisfaction over the minister’s visit and said his arrival here was a big challenge to such miscreants.

The home minister said if in the future a bullet comes from the student, he would be treated as a criminal because such a situation was intolerable for him.

Later, he also addressed the students and advised them to continue their studies without any fear and pay full attention to their academic pursuits.
