Cricket-Inzamam equals century record, England struggle FAISALABAD, Pakistan, Nov 21 (Reuters) – Captain Inzamam-ul-Haq scored a record equalling 23rd century as Pakistan made 462 before reducing England to 113 for three at close of play on the second day of the second test on Monday. Ian Bell (36) and Kevin Pietersen (four) were batting when bad light stopped play. Paceman Rana Naved bowled Andrew Strauss (12) and captain Michael Vaughan (two) in successive overs to leave England struggling on 39 for two. Mohammad Sami struck just before close when he got opener Marcus Trescothick to inside edge to wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal on 48. Earlier, Inzamam had made 109 to equal Javed Miandad for the most test centuries by a Pakistani, while Shahid Afridi plundered 92 to take the team to an imposing total. The Pakistan skipper was run out in controversial fashion by Steve Harmison when the fast bowler threw down the stumps off his own bowling and Inzamam, in avoiding the ball, momentarily lifted his foot and left the crease. Malaysian PM urges Israeli caution over ancient mosque KUALA LUMPUR, Nov 21 (AFP) - Malaysia's Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi on Monday urged Israeli authorities to be "cautious" amid fears the walls of the ancient Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem's Old City were crumbling. Muslims were angry over the poor condition of the mosque, he said. Israeli media reported last week that large sections of the 16th century walls surrounding Jerusalem's Old City were in danger of collapse unless they underwent immediate restoration. The area in most need of work is a section flanking the southern supporting wall of the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, the third holiest site in Islam. The site also houses the ruins of the ancient Jewish temple, the most sacred spot in Judaism, which was destroyed by the Romans in 70 AD. Israeli authorities have repeatedly called attention to a bulge in the southern supporting wall of the Al-Aqsa mosque compound, provoking tensions between the Jewish and Muslim communities. Palestinian Muslim leaders have urged the OIC and UNESCO to protect Islamic heritage including the compound in the Old City and have held Israel responsible for the crumbling of the walls.(Posted @ 17:08 PST)
