HYDERABAD, Nov 20: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz, Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz and Jeay Sindh Students Federation held a march from the Sindh University old campus to the press club on Sunday in protest against continued detention of party leaders.

They staged a sit-in on the press club road for over an hour and demanded that detained leaders Muzaffar Bhutto, Sattar Hakro, Zulfiqar Khaskheli, Ahmed Khan Keerio and Mehram Mallah be released.

Speaking on the occasion, Ahmed Ali Chandio, Ameer Hussain Panhwar and Abdul Ghani Mangrio said that the JSMM leaders were arrested one and a half months back and being held incommunicado by the agencies.

They feared that they might be killed.

They said that the JSQM leaders were languishing in central jail without any trial.

PROTEST: Residents of Phulelli, including women and children, staged a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Sunday against a press photographer of a Sindhi daily.

They raised slogans against the press photographer and police.

They said that the poor people of the area were being blackmailed and even beaten and women were being insulted by sons of the photographer.

They said the Pinyari police was taking no action against their tormentors due to influence of the photographer.

They appealed to the higher authorities to protect them against the hoodlums.
