Jordan female suicide bomber confesses on television AMMAN, Nov 13 (APP/AFP) - The woman arrested by Jordan and accused of carrying out failed suicide mission in the Amman hotel bombings Sunday evening gave a televised confession wearing her suicide belt. Jordan arrested the Iraqi woman on Sunday, saying she concealed explosives that failed to detonate but her husband managed to blow himself apart in a mission that targeted two other hotels and killed 57 people. "My name is Sajida Mabruk Atrous Rishawi, born in 1970 in Ramadi. I entered Jordan on November 5 with falsified Iraq passports in which the name of my husband was Ali Hussein Ali and mine was Sajida Abdel Kader Latif," she said, wearing a white headscarf and a black coat. She said that she entered the Radisson SAS hotel with her husband and "we each took up a corner. There was a marriage, women, and children. He managed to blow himself up, I tried but I could not. Pakistan says lack of trust in ties with India DHAKA, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Pakistan sees a lack of trust in ties with India despite a year and a half of peace talks, although regular meetings between the two sides are helping remove misgivings, Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz said on Sunday. Aziz's blunt comments a day after bilateral discussions with Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and the lack of any breakthrough appear to signal a setback, or at least a continued deadlock, in the slow-moving peace process. "There is clearly a trust deficit between the two countries," Aziz told reporters in the Bangladesh capital, where the seven South Asian nations are holding a summit meeting. He said as far as Pakistan was concerned, the core issue with India was the dispute over divided Kashmir. "We must make progress on Kashmir and then we can move in parallel on other issues. We do not subscribe to the view that let's do everything else and Kashmir will resolve itself. "For sustainable peace, we must address Kashmir." India's foreign secretary said after Saturday's talks that New Delhi had conveyed its unhappiness over continued attacks in India by militants based in Pakistan and infiltration across the frontier in Kashmir.(Posted @ 22:42 PST)

He called for cut in troops in the territory to boost peace efforts. The step will also curb human rights violations in the territory, he further said. Shaukat Aziz, commenting on the South Asian Free Trade Agreement added a note of caution saying: "The implementation of SAFTA may take a little longer time than the targeted deadline of 2006 end."(Posted @ 22:32 PST)

Taliban kill three Afghan police in restive south KANDAHAR, Afghanistan, Nov 13 (Reuters) - Taliban guerrillas killed three policemen after kidnapping them in a volatile southern province, an official said on Sunday, in the latest spate of fresh violence in Afghanistan. The trio were kidnapped from their vehicle while traveling in a district of Helmand province on Saturday night and then were shot dead, Haji Mohammad Wali, a spokesman for Helmand's governor said. A Taliban spokesman Qari Mohammad Yousuf had claimed responsibility for the attack. The U.S. military said it had no reports of casualties in response to another claim by Yousuf -- that Taliban fighters had killed five U.S. soldiers in a clash in the southern province of Zabul, another province in the south. Southern Afghanistan was the main bastion of the Taliban before U.S.-led troops drove them from power in 2001, after their leaders refused to surrender Osama bin Laden's al Qaeda network. The Helmand incident was the latest in a series of attacks. At least three policemen were killed, and eight wounded in separate attacks in the south and east on Friday night. Taliban fighters were also suspected of killing a deputy provincial governor of Nimroz province on Thursday. He was ambushed while travelling from his southern province to attend a conference in Kabul on national reconciliation.(Posted @ 17:40 PST)
