Farm research needs joint efforts

FAISALABAD, Nov 12: Pakistan Agricultural Research Council chairman Dr Ihsan Tasnim has said cooperation between research institutions could help increase per acre yield.

Speaking to the agricultural scientists at a meeting held here at the Ayub Agricultural Research Institute on Saturday, the PARC chief stressed the need for concerted efforts by research institutes to achieve the desired results and boost the quality of agricultural research.

He said research institutions should benefit from the achievements of foreign institutes like CIMMYT, ICARDA and IRRI.

Interaction with these institutes should be enhanced, he added.

Highlighting the importance of training agricultural scientists for improving quality of research, Dr Ihsan assured the AARI scientists for providing them equal opportunities of training.
