HYDERABAD, Oct 21: District Nazim Kanwar Naveed Jamil has directed officials of various departments of the district government to prepare themselves for implementation of mega development projects in the district.

He was talking to newsmen at his office on Friday.

He said he had asked all EDOs of the district that development activities would be expedited manifold as many mega development projects were about to be implemented while others were under consideration to convert Hyderabad into a modern city.

He said that he and his organization believed in practical work rather then slogans as such hard working, efficient and dedicated officers would be encouraged.

He said that efforts were being made to channelize development funds announced by the government for the development of the district within the shortest possible time.

He said the implementation of mega development projects, would not only raise living standard of the people with all basic and civic facilities but would also provide job opportunities to the people of Hyderabad.

He said that he had asked management of all departments to undertake their joint efforts and evolve integrated strategy in such a way that development funds could be utilized in efficient manner.

He also stressed the need for close coordination among district, provincial and federal government departments to avoid overlapping.

CONVOCATION: Sindh University’s Academic Convocation 2004 will be held in December in Jamshoro.

The Sindh governor will preside over the academic convocation.

All the candidates who have passed annual examination up to 2004 as regular as well external candidates from affiliated degree colleges and semester examination up to academic session 2004-2005 as regular candidate may apply at the office of controller of examination.
