KARACHI, Oct 21: The Central Board of Revenue has directed its Sales Tax Collectorate to clear all pending claims for sales tax refunds by November 15. “Immediately pay the refunds to exporters and no excuse for delay would be accepted,” ordered CBR member sales tax Shahid Ahmed during a meeting with four textile associations held to discuss the refund issue and other problems faced by exporters, said a PRGMEA statement here on Friday.

The PRGMEA team was led by its central chairman Bilal Mulla while the Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers Association side was led by M. Zubair Motiwala.

Mr Ahmed asked the PRGMEA chairman to update him in Islamabad daily about the progress made regarding the payment of refunds.

He directed sales tax enforcement collector Ghulam Ahmed to devote one full day to each association turn by turn for disposing of refund claims of its members.—APP
