By Our Staff Reporter

KARACHI, Oct 20: Water supply to the city from the Hub dam source was slashed to half on Thursday after a portion of its canal was badly damaged. Well-placed sources in the KWSB said the city, which normally got between 90 million and 95 million gallons of water per day from the Hub source, was getting only 50mgd and as such a number of localities hooked to it went dry on Thursday and would also remain without water on Friday.

The affected localities include Baldia, Orangi, Pak Colony, Asif Colony, Zuberi Colony, Old Golimar, Shershah, Grex, Mauripur, PAF Masroor and KANUPP. According to KWSB sources, repairs of the damaged portion of the canal had already been initiated and the affected areas would start getting normal supply by Friday night.
