Karachi Port operations

KARACHI, Oct 20: Three ships carrying containers and crude oil are expected to arrive at the outer anchorage on Friday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side as the port agencies tried to clear the backlog of incoming vessels. As a result, nine ships, Kota Teguh, Norasia Ploris, Eax Sanctity, Hyundai Sprinter, Y.M. Futures, to unload and load containers, Le Yi, to unload and load general cargo, Clio, to offload steel cargo, Rifki Bey to unload DAP fertilizer and Sichem Caribean, to unload tallow were berthed.

Sailing was also fairly brisk as a dozen ships, Argonaut, Astor, Iran Baabaei, H.S. Discoverer, APL Dalian, Teo, B.B.C Antario, Ocean Peace, Ping Jiang, Al-Marwah, Swat and Ocean Grace departed, while Hyundai Sprinter, Sichem Caribean, Norasia Polaris and Sea Blessing are due to sail out on Friday.

A total tonnage of 0.125m tons comprising 20,647 tons of export cargo including 2,889 tons of rice and 317 tons of cement and 0.105m tons of import tonnage, which also included 2,763 tons of sugar and 12,790 tons of DAP fertilizer.

The following ships are due on Friday: Wan Hai-266, Sagamore, with containers and Johar, with 65,264 tons of crude oil.
