KARACHI: Veteran scout passes away


KARACHI, Oct 9: The most senior scout leader of Pakistan, Abdul Waheed Rana, died here on Friday after protracted illness. He was 102. The deceased had received a number of awards including Medal of Merit from the president and Long Service Decoration Award for performing outstanding services in the field of scout.

He was recently awarded Rs100,000 by Sindh Governor Ishratul Ibad on his long association with the field of scout.

A programme, to pay tribute to Abdul Waheed Rana, will be held on Oct 15 at the Sindh Headquarters of Pakistan Boy Scouts Association. —APP
