Probables for KCCA trials announced

KARACHI, Sept 27: The Karachi City Cricket Association (KCCA) on Tuesday have invited 98 probables for trials to select two Karachi teams for the Quaid-i-Azam cricket championship, which gets under way from Oct 16.

Most of the probables have been called on the basis of performance in the recently-concluded PCB Inter-district senior cricket championship.

Meanwhile, those cricketers who have returned after playing in the English league cricket but were unable to compete in the senior Inter-district tournament have also been advised to report according to the above schedule.

The final trials for selection of Karachi teams will be conducted by PCB-appointed selection committee for Karachi Region, headed by Maazullah Khan, on Friday at the same venue from 9.00am onwards.

The following cricketers are advised to report to former Test players Asif Mujtaba and Rashid Khan at National Stadium on Wednesday at 10am:

LIAQUATABAD-GULSHAN ZONE (Zone-I): Mansoor Khan, Salman Khan, Tahir Khan, Abdul Qadir, Tariq Haroon, Sharjeel Ashraf, Faisal Mirza, Aminur Rahman, Haris Ayaz, Wasim Naeem, Rashid Ali, Asif Zakir, Nasir Khan, Tabish Khan, Irfan Ansari, Wajahat Farooq.

FEDERAL ‘B’ AREA-NEW KARACHI ZONE (Zone-II): Naumanullah, Saeed bin Nasir, Javed Qadeer, Saad Wasim, Daniyal Ahsan, Fawwad Alam, Atif Ali Zaidi, Naveed Khan, Naseer Khan, Imranullah, Asim Zaidi, Hasan Saeed, Faraz Ahmed Khan, Mirza Adnan.

NORTH NAZIMABAD ORANGI ZONE (Zone-VI): Irfanuddin, Rizwan Qureshi, Tabish Nawab, Mansoor Big, Fahadullah, Naeem Ahmed Khan, Saeed Khan, Noman Alvi, Adnan Kaleem, Iftikhar Ali, Kamran bin Mansoor, Faraz Ahmed Khan, Shahid Latif, Asad Shafiq, Shaharyar Ghani and Babar Agha, Imran Javed.

NAZIMABAD-ASIFABAD ZONE (Zone-VII): Iqbal Shaikh, Farhan Iqbal, Faraz Patel, Mansoor Ahmed, Wajihuddin, Aftab Ahmed, Raheel Waris, Mohammad Gul, Sharif Asadullah, Matiur Rahman, Tariq Rasheed, Shadab Kabir.

The following players should report at 2.00pm:

OLD KARACHI ZONE (Zone-III): Agha Sabir, Afsar Nawaz, Fahad Iqbal, Saad Umer, Ahmed Zeeshan Malik, M. Ijaz, Fahim Ahmed, Ali Mohammad Madani, Rajeh Ramesh, Fahad Khan, Fahad Jabbar, Talha Leghari, M. Muzaffar, Zahid Ghauri.

MALIR-SHAH FAISAL ZONE (Zone-IV): Khalid Latif, Khurram Manzoor, Ariz Kamal, M. Farrukh, Azam Hussain, Nasir Aziz, Nadeem Shad, Azeemul Hasan, Farman Ali, Farman Shah, Farhan Adil, Sajid Younis, M. Iqbal, Umar Shahid.
