Frontier College triumph

PESHAWAR, Sept 27: Frontier College for Women defeated Frontier Education Foundation College for Women 3-1 in the opening match of the Board of Intermediate and Secretary Education (BISE) Inter-college girls’ table tennis championship at board premises on Tuesday.

Shumaila Tajick defeated Tayaba Khan in straight sets 11-8, 11-7. Shireen Jana upset Maryum Waqar in three sets 2-1 (9-11, 13-11, 11-9). Neelam Aziz defeated Gulmina 2-0 (11-6, 11-9) in the last and decisive match.

City District College for Women beat Government Girls Higher School, Chamkani 3-0. Sana Khan defeated Sabab 2-0 (11-4, 11-7), Fatima beat Rabia 2-0 (11-9, 11-9) and Hina beat Irum 3-0 (11-6, 11-9).

Government Girls High School, Hayatabad defeated Frontier Education 3-0. Asama, Nighat and Faiza defeated Shazia, Saba Ali and Irum Batool in straight sets.

A girls’ badminton championship would also be held on Sept 29-Oct 3, in which 15 colleges have so far confirmed their participation.—APP
