KARACHI, Sept 26: Four ships carrying containers, edible oil and chemicals were allotted berths at QICT, MPT and EVT during the last 24 hours, said a PQA press release on Monday.

Meanwhile, two more ships with furnace oil and containers also arrived at the outer anchorage. Berth occupancy stood at 77 per cent as seven ships, Camille Rickmers, Mexico Norwave, Pacific Breeze, Bota Fogo, Logfin and Chem Pisces, were busy in loading and unloading containers, edible oil, wheat, rapeseeds, furnace oil and chemicals.

A cargo volume of 74,625 tons comprising 60,719 tons of import cargo and 13,906 tons of export tonnage was handled.

Sailing was also active as Logfin and Pacific Breeze left the port while Mexico an Camilla were due to depart.

Four ships, Yang Quan, Voyager, Selin and Trust Sprit, were awaiting their berthing turn at the outer anchorage.
