UK eases visa policy for Pakistanis

ISLAMABAD, Sept 20: British High Commissioner in Pakistan Mark Lyall Grant has said that his country has eased visa policy for Pakistanis and now the applicants fulfilling the criteria will get visa in five days’ shortest time.

Speaking to reporters, he said visa process had been eased up and applications were being responded within five days.

He said a ban on the first time visit of 25-year-old people, who had no family in the UK, had been lifted on Aug 1, 2005.

Mr Grant pointed out that this year 122,000 visa applications had been processed— a 20 per cent increase on last year— and around 4,500 student visas had been issued.—AFP
