Musharraf holds one-on-one meeting with Bush NEW YORK Sept 14 (APP): President General Pervez Musharraf Tuesday held a 30-minute, one-on-one meeting with President George W. Bush, seeking US help in the reduction of Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. Musharraf said a pullout of Indian troops from certain areas, identified by Ambassador Jahangir Karamat as Baramula and Kupwara, would be a definite step towards meaningful progress on Kashmir. He pointed out that if there was no Indian reciprocity on the key Kashmir issue, all other confidence building measures would lose their impact. He also asked Bush to expedite the process of free trade between the two countries. Musharraf also expressed sympathies over colossal losses wrought by Hurricane Katrina for which Bush thanked Pakistan's gesture in contributing to the relief efforts. (Posted @ 11:27 PST)
