Top teams for Ramazan tourney


KARACHI, Sept 12: Sixteen top teams of the city are taking part in Dr M A Shah floodlights Ramazan cricket tournament to be held at Asghar Ali Shah Stadium starting from 1st of Ramazan.

According to chairman tournament committee Dr Muhammad Ali Shah a number of cash prizes are kept for this mega event with the winners receiving Rs100,000 and the losing finalist getting Rs50,000.

Besides, Rs5,000 each cash prize will be awarded to Man-of-the-Match of the final, Best Player of the tournament, Best Batsman, Best Bowler and Best Wicketkeeper.

In addition, Rs25,000 cash award will be given to the batsman who hits four sixes in an over and Rs10,000 to the one hitting four boundaries in an over.

Test players Abdul Razzak, Shahid Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar, Hasan Raza, Salman Butt, Yasir Hameed, Yunus Khan and Asim Kamal are expected to feature in the tournament.

Teams from Lahore, Quetta and Multan will also participate in the event.
