BSO leader threatens hunger strike
QUETTA, Sept 12: Baloch Students’ Organization (United) chairman Dr Imdad Baloch has announced on Monday that he would observe hunger strike unto death from Oct 3 if Dr Allah Nazar and other activists were not released.
Speaking at a press conference at the press club, he demanded that women and children arrested in Makran and two Baloch women apprehended in Swat be freed.
He said unlawful detentions would create hatred between the Baloch people and the federation.
The BSO-U leader said Baloch women had come out on the streets to protest against government atrocities because of state tyranny and oppression but the rulers were least interested in addressing the miseries of the oppressed nationality.
He alleged that during the past five years the usurpers had resorted to kidnapping Baloch nationalist activists and torturing them in solitary cells to force them to give up their struggle for national rights.
Dr Baloch said he himself had been subjected to inhuman torture by an intelligence agency but he was committed to his cause.
He said his organization would hold protest rallies in Quetta and Karachi on Sept 20 and 30, respectively, to protest against the government’s oppression.
