FAISALABAD, Sept 7: An under-trial prisoner in the district jail on Wednesday sent a statement and written application to the tribunal probing Sonia Naz case. Sanaullah claimed in the application that he was picked up by Inspector Jamshed Iqbal Chishti from his house and was illegally confined for about 20 days last year during Ramazan. During this period, Asim Yousaf was also confined in a private torture cell of the inspector.

Sanaullah claimed that he was released but again arrested from Mianwali by the inspector and was detained in the Sargodha Road police station where Asim was also present.

“I was shifted to Makuana police post along with Asim where we were tortured. Asim’s condition deteriorated so much so that he could not move,” he said.

He requested the tribunal head to allow him to record statement in person so that more facts could be brought to light.
