DADU: DIP, SDP field candidates for Dadu nazim

DADU, Sept 3: Dadu Ittehad and Shaheed Dost panels have finalized candidates for district nazim post in meetings of UC nazims, councillors, party leaders and supporters on Friday.

The Awam Dost Panel has sent names of candidates to PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto for final selection. However, the ADP finalized names of taluka nazim candidates.

A meeting of the Dadu Ittehad Panel held in Betto Jatoi unanimously decided that Karim Bux Jatoi, son of Federal Minister for Water and Power Liaquat Jatoi would contest district nazim seat.

The meeting was presided over by MPA Sadaqat Ali Jatoi and attended by PML MPAs Dr Manzoor Leghari, Ehsan Ali Jatoi, former MPAs Sardar Naban Lund, Syed Mohammad Shah and PML district leaders Ahmed Khan Lund, Ali Mohammad Soomro, Aijaz Sihole and Saeed Soomro.

The meeting decided that Unid Ali Jatoi would contest for taluka nazim Mehar, Dhani Bux Jatoi for taluka nazim Khairpur Nathan Shah, Ghulamullah Lund for Dadu taluka and Chakar Khan Shahani for Johi taluka.

Karim Bux Jatoi said the Dadu Ittehad Panel had won 35, of 52 UC nazim seats.

He said about 400 councillors, out of 676, belonged to the DIP.

Mr Jatoi claimed the DIP would elect district nazim for Dadu district and nazims for Dadu, Johi, Khairpur Nathan Shah and Mehar talukas.

The meeting of the Shaheed Dost Panel was held at the PPP-SB district office Dadu town.

The meeting was presided over by district president of the PPP-SB Dadu, Ali Mohammad Jamali.
