By Our Reporter

KARACHI, Sept 1: Provincial chief of the Pakistan People’s Party Syed Qaim Ali Shah has been summoned to Dubai by the party’s chairperson, Ms Benazir Bhutto, for taking stock of the party’s poor showing in the local body election.

Makhdoom Amin Fahim, chief of the PPP-Parliamentarians who also heads the ARD, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, leader of the opposition in the Sindh Assembly, and several other PPP leaders are already in Dubai to brief Ms Bhutto about the ground realities with reference to the election. Mr Shah is expected to return home on Friday night ahead of the Sept 4 meeting of the party’s Sindh Council to be held at the People’s Secretariat.

PPP legislators, members of its central executive committee, federal council, Sindh council’s executive committee, as well as the party’s district presidents and general secretaries would also attend the meeting which is being convened amid serious criticism of the party leadership.
