KARACHI, Sept 1: DIG Traffic Falak Khurshid has notified timings for the entry of heavy commercial vehicles, including dumpers, into city limits. The timings will be effective immediately.

According to an official announcement, the entry of dumpers into the city limits will be prohibited from 7am to 10am and 5pm to 8pm.

Heavy commercial vehicles will not be permitted to enter from 7am to 9am and 6pm to 8pm.

Violators would face strict legal action under Motor Vehicle Ordinance and fine under Provincial Motor Vehicle (Amendment) Ordinance, the announcement said.

A traffic police spokesman said movement of heavy vehicles not only caused traffic jams, but also many fatal accidents.—APP
