By Our Sports Reporter

ISLAMABAD, Aug 31: For Pakistan’s top seed Carla Khan, the first POF WISPA squash tournament is proving to be a cakewalk as she swept into the semifinals on Wednesday in a 13-minute stroll at the Jahangir Khan Complex in Wah.

After her 14-minute opening day rout of Muqaddas Ashraf on Tuesday, Carla followed that up with a 9-3, 9-2, 9-3 hammering of England’s Jenna Gates.

In the semifinals on Thursday, she will play Malaysian Delia Arnold who won a tough quarterfinal against her compatriot Lim Yoke Wah.

After being on court for about 40 minutes, Delia was eventually able to thwart the challenge of her opponent winning 3-9, 9-0, 9- 6, 9-4.

Malaysian Tricia Chuah also had to work hard in overpowering Denmark’s Line Hansen 6-9, 9-0, 9-3, 9-6 in a match that lasted 37 minutes.

Tricia’s semifinal will be against another Malaysian Sharon Wee who was involved in the tournament’s first match that went full distance.
