KARACHI, Aug 29: Six ships carrying soda ash, DAP fertilizer and containers are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was brisk where 11 ships, including three to offload sugar, were berthed. They are: Astor, Maersk Alaska, Itha Bum, Banglar Doot, and Iran Kordestan, to unload and load containers, Panagani, Fude, Atholforos, to offload sugar, Khairpur and Arihant, to unload iron scrap, while eight ships departed.

The ships, which departed included Ocean Ranger, Biri, Bahar Montango, Wan Hai-265, Banglar Urmi, Panama Express, Shong Yuan Men and Celtic Terrier, while Astor, Maersk Alaska and Phemonte are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.111m tons comprising 28,339 tons of export cargo and 82,367 tons of import tonnage was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Zhong Yang Men, with 5,795 tons of soda ash, Yang Hang He, APL Cairo, Bunga Terasek, Kota Teraju and Elbe Oldendroff, with containers, and Genco Wisdom, with 40,753 tons of DAP fertilizer.
