By Our Correspondent

MIRAMSHAH, Aug 28: Two soldiers were killed when an army truck was blown up in the Shawal area, some 65km west of the North Waziristan Agency headquarters on Saturday.

The vehicle was on patrol duty in the area when it struck a remote-controlled device planted on a road near Bori Saidgi. Two soldiers were killed and another was injured. The injured was taken to a military hospital in Bannu by a helicopter.

Investigation was under way.

AFP adds: “Two soldiers were martyred and another wounded when an improvised explosive device hit their vehicle during a routine patrol,” military spokesman Maj-Gen Shaukat Sultan said.
