Rokhri’s withdrawal lauded

MIANWALI, Aug 28: The Khidmat Ittehad led by federal minister Dr Sher Afgan on Sunday expressed gratitude for the chief minister for reportedly withdrawing nomination of Humair Hayat Rokhri for district nazim slot.

At a press conference held at his residence, Dr Afgan nominated Obaidullah Khan Shadikhel for the slot and said as the Ittehad had got majority in the district it qualified to nominate its candidate for the office.

Confusion: There is still confusion in the district about the results of the local elections for various seats because of poor planning by the election commission and the administration.

The counting of results of the election for some seats completed on Sunday morning, but the presiding officers did not issue any list and verbally announced the outcome.

A great deal of confusion was created on Saturday evening when some presiding officers issued the consolidated lists that did not match those notifying the preliminary results.
