KARACHI, Aug 27: Caretaker Gulshan-i-Iqbal Town Syed Fazeel Ahmed Bukhari has declared rain emergency in the town in view of expected rains. According to a statement of the town’s municipal administration on Saturday, all arrangements have been made to meet any emergency during expected rains.

These include cleaning of garbage dumps and manholes from Hassan Square Chowrangi, University Road, Stadium Road, Sir Shah Suleman Road, Time Square Stadium Road and Jail Chowrangi.

Orders have been issued by the caretaker to the concerned staff to ensure its round-the-clock presence.

The town’s customer centre will remain open. Complaints can be made on phone numbers 9230355-59, the statement added.

The caretaker also took a tour of various areas of the town and supervised sanitation and cleanliness work being carried out. — APP
