‘Investment prospects bright in Karachi’

KARACHI, Aug 26: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that after the local body elections, the positive impression about Pakistan throughout the world has gained further strength.

As a result of improvement in the law and order situation during the last few years, the negative impression about Karachi faded away and local and foreign investors showed practical interest.

He was talking to a delegation of Al-Tawariqi Group of Companies of Saudi Arabia at the Governor’s House here on Friday. The group was led by its chairman Dr Hilal Hussain Al-Tawariqi.

Dr Hilal said that his group was setting up a steel billets plant in the Steel Mills area and initially $100 million investment was being made. He said foundation stone of the plant would be laid in December.

The governor informed the delegation that country’s 60 per cent gas production took place in Sindh and assured the group of all cooperation of the provincial government.—APP
