Hasan, Misbah to skipper PCB teams

LAHORE, Aug 22: Test rejects Hasan Raza and Misbahul Haq will lead the PCB Greens and Whites teams, respectively, in the three-day match being played to finalize Pakistan ‘A’ squad for home series against Australia ‘A’ next month.

The match will be held at the Qadhafi Stadium from Sept 2 to 4.

The national selection committee headed by Wasim Bari announced both the teams.

Apart from Hasan, the Greens squad includes Yasir Hameed, Salman Butt, Shoaib Malik, Asim Kamal, Umar Gul and Bazid Khan.

Senior cricketers like Imran Farhat, Taufiq Umar and Arshad Khan are in the Whites team.

The squad for Australia ‘A’ matches will be announced after the three-day match.

Meanwhile, a conditioning camp for the players of the two teams will be held at the National Cricket Academy here from Aug 29 to Sept 1, before holding the match.

Coach-cum-manager: Rashid Khan.

PCB WHITES: Imran Farhat, Taufiq Umar, Faisal Athar, Misbahul Haq (captain), Faisal Iqbal, Naumanullah, Mansoor Amjad, Aminur Rehman (wicket-keeper), Arshad Khan, Riaz Afridi, Najaf Shah, Yasir Ali, Mohammad Irshad, Shahid Yousuf.

Coach-cum-manager: Mansoor Rana.

Academy squad

Hasan Raza was retained as Pakistan Academy skipper for the first one-day match of the three-game series against South Africa Academy scheduled to be held at the Bagh-i-Jinnah ground here on Wednesday.

Hasan also led the team in the two four-day matches. Pakistan Academy won the series 1-0.

The second one-day match will be played at the Qadhafi Stadium on Friday and the third at the Sheikhupura Stadium on Sunday.
