LONDON, Aug 22: European stock markets climbed on Monday, as a surge in mining shares offset the effects of negative news in London’s pharmaceutical sector, dealers said. The London FTSE 100 index moved 0.11 per cent higher to 5,318.4 points, the Frankfurt DAX 30 increased 0.24 per cent to 4,941.69 points and in Paris the CAC 40 was flat at 4,485.94.—AFP
